Wet and Dry Mineral Foundation
mineral foundation is attractive to a lot of people. However, liquid foundation provides coverage that they fear that they will have to give up. They do not realize that you can use mineral foundation in wet or dry form. Both methods can yield many of the same positive results. You need to know how to wear mineral foundation wet and dry. This will help you to get the best look for your skin on any given day.
Always use a special horsehair brush to apply mineral foundation. You will use this brush whether you are applying the foundation wet or dry. Be sure that you keep the brush clean so that you can reuse it each day.
When you use mineral foundation dry, you get very light coverage. This does not mean that irregularities will show. It does mean that foundation will feel very light on your face. However, you can still layer on the mineral powder foundation to camouflage lines, wrinkles and irregularities.
Here are some benefits that come from using mineral foundation as dry powder:
* It deflects light out of creases and wrinkles. This will decrease the signs of aging. The mica flakes deflect light a bit more effectively when they are dry.
* It feels like you are wearing no makeup at all. The powder will smooth onto your skin and provide a smooth, natural look.
* You will have the option of sleeping in your dry mineral foundation. It is generally a better option to remove your makeup given the option. Dry mineral foundation does not block your pores though and will not cause the kind of aging and damage that other liquid foundations can.
Applying mineral foundation involves swirling the horsehair brush in the powder. Tap the excess powder off the brush. Buff the powder against your face in a circular motion. Apply layers until you like the look. Your end results will look bright, light and natural. You will easily be able to apply other cosmetics over the mineral foundation.
Some people prefer to use mineral foundation wet. They believe that this gives them better coverage. Mineral foundation covers evenly either way though, so this is largely a personal preference. Using mineral foundation wet makes you look slightly more “made up” and glamorous. Of course this look may be less natural, but people think it looks more professional. Also, it provides a great palate for additional makeup. The first step of applying wet mineral foundation is to dip the brush in dry mineral powder. Tap the powder off the brush and into your palm or the lid. Do not get the entire mineral foundation wet at once. Moisten the brush and swirl the foundation around. This will make a liquid mineral foundation on the brush. Blend first with the brush and then your fingers.
Ultimately you can wear mineral foundation wet or dry. You will adore your natural look when you wear your mineral foundation.
